Pull Cord Switch

A pull cord switch is an emergency stop device that stops machinery instantly when a dangerous condition arises or an accident occurs. They protect large, expansive machinery or installation areas that cannot be protected by an enclosed housing or covers. Areas of an installation or machine can be shut down immediately from any point in the working area in the event of danger.

We supply a range of emergency pull cord switches throughout New Zealand distributed from our on-shore warehouses in Auckland and Hamilton. Here are the features of the Euchner pull cord switches and along with information on installing emergency pull cord switches.

Pull Cord Switch Installation

With emergency pull cord switches, there are installation criteria required in order to ensure the pull cord switch complies with certain safety standards. In general, emergency pull cord switches must always be installed so that they can be reached easily and operated safely by persons who are at risk. Marking flags may be used to improve the visibility of the pull cord switch location.

A tensioner spring must also be installed on the counter bearing in order to ensure proper and safety-compliant implementation of the rope pull system - however, we always recommend following manufacturer instructions on how to correctly install your pull cord switch. Our team can also provide advice on installation if required.
