igus is a new member of the Profibus Nutzerorganisation e.V.

Due to the increasing importance of Profinet in moving applications in industry, igus has now joined the Profibus Nutzerorganisation e.V. as a cable specialist. Here they can further advance the research of Profinet technology in moving applications, so that you can be sure that the igus cable solutions always meet the current electrical requirements.

Profinet offers clear advantages for industry: a large amount of data can be transferred at up to 100 Mbit/s based on the Ethernet protocol. However, this also means that machines and cables must move increasingly more dynamically in a compact installation space: a challenge for standard cables. Therefore, igus has been developing cables that are specifically suitable for use in energy chains and on robots for over 25 years.

For Profinet alone, we offer nine types of igus cable for different application scenarios, all coming with the igus 36-month chainflex guarantee.

PACE interview: Positivity and connection during COVID-19
PACE speaks to Treotham Automation managing director Mikael Paltoft about how the company is overcoming challenges to their supply chain during COVID-19. Paltoft counts his company as lucky during the COVID-19 pandemic. The disruption in air freight and delivery costs, which according to Paltoft have been raised by nearly 600 per cent, has not stopped the company from moving its operations forward.  It is business as usual for Paltoft, whose phone starts ringing at 8am in the morning. He said his staff had adapted very well to new ways of work. Read more
Safety at high speed with e-chain system in the linear motor robot
Twice as fast and half as heavy: this is what makes the linear motor robot from FIBRO LÄPPLE TECHNOLOGY (FLT) different from other solutions. In order for the linear robot to be able to get production up and running quickly and reliably, a compact, durable and quiet energy supply was required. A side-mounted igus energy chain system with pre-harnessed chainflex cables proved to be the optimal solution. Linear robots are the automation tool of choice for machine or press loading, order picking and high-bay warehouse loading or even for transport and handling tasks.
